War-struck Palestinians had to run for their lives as Israeli Warplanes ‘Carpet Bomb’ al-Mawasi

An Israeli military operation overnight in al-Mawasi resulted in several casualties and displaced at least 5,000 residents.

“We were sitting peacefully in our tent when the area was suddenly carpet bombed by Israeli warplanes. The airstrikes closed in on our neighborhood,” a survivor recounted.

“I heard neighbors crying out. Israeli tanks were also shelling the area. We all ran for our lives, leaving everything behind. Suddenly, Israeli tanks invaded the area, accompanied by helicopter and drone attacks. I saw bodies in pieces and flesh scattered everywhere.

“I grabbed my children and we ran for our lives. We have no idea where to go, just following the crowds. Many people were killed and injured. This was supposed to be a safe zone, but nowhere feels safe anymore.”

Since the conflict began on October 7, at least 37,834 people have been killed and 86,858 wounded in Gaza.

In Israel, the death toll from Hamas-led attacks stands at an estimated 1,139, with dozens of individuals still held captive in Gaza.
